Starting a fresh chat but keeping the story

When a conversation has drifted too far to rescue, you can restart while keeping what happened.

Using Director Mode:

1. Ask the AI to summarise. Ex.:  /cmd go out of character and create a summary of the entire chat so far
2. Copy and tidy the summary
3. Start a new chat
4. Paste the summary as your first message, prefaced with something like "This is what happened earlier:"

For a very long chat, you may want to condense it further first, then clone the conversation, delete the messages, and replace the greeting with your summary. That gives you a fresh context window with the story intact.

Or use Director Mode to re-establish the situation in a new chat and carry on from there.
