Making a private character public

A character that has been set to private — particularly one set to private by moderation — can't simply be switched back to public. It has to go through review again.

If you set it private yourself, edit the character, change Visibility to Public and save. It'll go into the review queue.

If moderation set it private, or the toggle won't take, you need to get it back into the review queue:

1. Report your own character
2. In the report, note that you're requesting a re-review of your own character
3. A moderator will move it to Fix It status
4. Then resubmit it — edit the character to address any moderation concerns and save. If there’s none, adding or removing a single space is enough to activate the Submit button.
5. A moderator reviews it and sets it public if it passes

Make the fix first. If moderation set it private for a guidelines reason, resubmitting unchanged will get the same result. The email you received names what needs changing.

If the toggle genuinely isn't working

Tell us:

• Whether you get an error when selecting Edit from the three-dot menu
• Whether you get an error when selecting Public under Visibility
• What happens after clearing your browser cache and reloading
• Whether it also fails on the Android app
• A short screen recording, if possible
