How to report a bug so we can actually fix it

Bugs get fixed fastest when the first message has everything in it. Otherwise we may spend two days asking questions.

Always include:

  1. What happened, and what you expected instead
  2. The exact error message — a screenshot is better than retyping it
  3. Platform — website or Android app
  4. Browser and version, or app version
  5. Device and OS
  6. When it happened, approximately
  7. Whether you're using a VPN
  8. A link to the character or chat, if it's specific to one
  9. A screenshot or short screen recording — for anything visual, this is the single most valuable thing you can send

Also useful to include if relevant to your issue:

  • Whether it happens at the start of a chat or only in long ones
  • Whether it affects one character or all of them
  • What happens if you clone the conversation
  • Whether it also happens on a different model
  • A screenshot of your generation settings, if it's about reply quality

Capturing a network log

For harder bugs we may ask for this. In Chrome:

  1. Open the page where the problem happens
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+I (or right-click → Inspect) to open Developer Tools
  3. Select the Network tab
  4. Check the record button at the top left is red — if it's grey, select it to start recording
  5. Reproduce the problem
  6. Screenshot the whole browser window with the Network tab visible
  7. Look for rows highlighted in red — select them and screenshot the detail
